What Do You Really Want?

Simple question. Brutally hard to answer.

It kept ringing in my mind as I finished “The Ride of a Lifetime” by Robert Iger.

Because so much of growth begins with clarity.

When you know what you want, you begin to see differently.

You know what to say yes to.

More importantly, you know what deserves a no.

You become intentional about the habits you build, the opportunities you pursue, the relationships you nurture, and even the discomfort you’re willing to tolerate.

Without clarity, almost everything looks like an opportunity.

With clarity, you can recognize what is actually aligned.

And you don’t need to have your entire life figured out. You just need enough clarity to choose your next direction.

So, How Do You Actually Find Clarity?

Three things that work:

1. Define What Matters Most

Strip away titles, expectations, and applause.

What kind of life, work, and impact actually matters to you?

2. Audit Your Behavior

Your calendar, spending, habits, and attention reveal what you are currently prioritizing.

Do they match what you say you want?

3. Choose Your “No”

Every meaningful yes requires a few intentional nos.

Identify what you must stop, reduce, or decline to create room for what matters.

The benefit?

Clarity is a filter.

It simplifies decisions, strengthens boundaries, and turns scattered effort into compounding momentum.

Leaders who know what they want don’t chase every opportunity; they choose the right ones.

And that’s what makes people want to follow them.

So, what do you really, really want?
