You’re in the Right Season — If You Know What Season It Is

You know that feeling when you’re going through the motions — showing up, ticking boxes, doing everything right, but something inside you feels hollow?
That’s not burnout. That’s not laziness.
That’s your soul telling you the season has shifted, and you haven’t moved with it.
Here’s the behavior that reveals the season has changed:
You say yes to things you’ve completely outgrown because they’re familiar.
You stay in rooms that no longer challenge you because leaving feels like losing.
You call it loyalty. You call it commitment.
But if you’re honest?
It’s fear wearing a responsible disguise.
I think about Naomi and Ruth in scripture.
After loss and pain and displacement, Naomi could have clung to her identity as Ruth’s mother-in-law indefinitely.
Instead, she was sensitive enough to recognize when her assignment changed.
She transitioned from treasured mother-in-law to coach, counselor, supporter, and strategist.
And that sensitivity to the season led to Ruth’s extraordinary story.
Here’s What This Means for You
You were not made for any one seat forever.
Not this role. Not this title. Not this season.
The question to sit with is:
Are you maximizing your current season, or are you mistaking a season for a destination?
Signs You May Be Holding On Past Your Season
● You’re going through the motions with no fire.
● What once felt like a calling now feels like cage.
● You’re playing it safe when you know you’re made for more.
Signs You’re Right on Time
● You’re being stretched in ways that are uncomfortable but purposeful.
● You’re seeing fruit you didn’t expect.
● The work still lights something in you, even on hard days.
Maximize the season you’re in.
Then be ready to move.
